Έχει ενδιαφέρον αυτό το βιβλίο που βρήκα στην πρόσφατη ενημέρωση του SF Site The New Space Opera

Στον κατάλογο του Dain συμπληρώνω το Consider Phlebas & Use of Weapons του Iain M Banks ενώ επαυξάνω σε ό,τι αφορά τον Charles Stross (ακόμα κι όταν δεν γράφει όπερα π.χ.

:cylon: :starwars:

Scalzi/Old Man's War Saga :thumbsup: Είναι περισσότερο military από ότι Space Opera αλλά θα σε χορτάσει με περίεργους εξωγήινους και πιου-πιου.

Άλλα βιβλία που μπορείτε να δοκιμάσετε είναι το Honorverse του David Weber που ξεκινάει με το Basilisk's Station , το Seven suns του Kevin J. Anderson με πρώτο βιβλίο το Hidden empire, το Lost fleet του Jack Cambell , το Dread empire's Fall του Walter Jon Williams (αγαπημένο) , The GAP του Stephen R .

Από τα καινούργια που έχω πάρει αλλά ακόμα να διαβάσω είναι το Leviathan Wakes του James S. Corey , και του John Ringo το Live free or die .

Αληθεια, καποια αλλη σειρα Space Opera που σας εντυπωσιασε;;

edit: Το έχει διαβάσει κανείς;

Captain Kel Cheris of the hexarchate is disgraced for using unconventional methods in a battle against heretics. Kel Command gives her the opportunity to redeem herself by retaking the Fortress of Scattered Needles, a star fortress that has recently been captured by heretics. Cheris's career isn't the only thing at stake. If the fortress falls, the hexarchate itself might be next. Cheris's best hope is to ally with the undead tactician Shuos Jedao. The good news is that Jedao has never lost a battle, and he may be the only one who can figure out how to successfully besiege the fortress. The bad news is that Jedao went mad in his first life and massacred two armies, one of them his own. As the siege wears on, Cheris must decide how far she can trust Jedao--because she might be his next victim.

The starship Ariel is on a mission of the utmost secrecy, upon which the fate of thousands of lives depend. Though the ship is a mile long, its six crew are crammed into a space barely large enough for them to stand. Five are officers, geniuses in their field. The other is Will Kuno-Monet, the man responsible for single-handedly running a ship comprised of the most dangerous and delicate technology that mankind has ever devised. He is the Roboteer. Roboteer is a hard-SF novel set in a future in which the colonization of the stars has turned out to be anything but easy, and civilization on Earth has collapsed under the pressure of relentless mutual terrorism. Small human settlements cling to barely habitable planets. Without support from a home-world they have had to develop ways of life heavily dependent on robotics and genetic engineering. Then out of the ruins of Earth's once great empire, a new force arises - a world-spanning religion bent on the conversion of all mankind to its creed. It sends fleets of starships to reclaim the colonies. But the colonies don't want to be reclaimed. Mankind's first interstellar war begins. It is dirty, dangerous and hideously costly.Will is a man bred to interface with the robots that his home-world Galatea desperately needs to survive. He finds himself sent behind enemy lines to discover the secret of their newest weapon. What he discovers will transform their understanding of both science and civilization forever...but at a cost.

From Joshua Dalzelle, author of the bestselling "Omega Force" series, comes an all new vision of humanity's future. In the 25th century humans have conquered space. The advent of faster-than-light travel has opened up hundreds of habitable planets for colonization, and humans have exploited the virtually limitless space and resources for hundreds of years with impunity. So complacent have they become with the overabundance that armed conflict is a thing of the past, and their machines of war are obsolete and decrepit. What would happen if they were suddenly threatened by a terrifying new enemy? Would humanity fold and surrender, or would they return to their evolutionary roots and meet force with force? One ship-and one captain-will soon be faced with this very choice. Against incredible odds, Jackson Wolfe is determined to save humanity-and in the process, might end up saving himself.
