Nihilio Posted October 15, 2007 Share Posted October 15, 2007 , sometimes shortened simply to Sue, is a pejorative term used to describe a fictional character, either male or female (though male characters are often dubbed "Larry Stu" or some other rhyming male name), that exhibits some or most of the clichés common in fan fiction, particularly if the character is unsympathetic to the reader. Characters were originally labeled as "Mary Sues" for being portrayed in an overly idealized way and lacking noteworthy or realistic flaws. The definition today has widened considerably to encompass most clichés found in fiction — such as having a tragic past — and especially that the character in question acts as a wish-fulfillment fantasy for the author who created it. These authors are sometimes referred to as Suethors, a portmanteau of "Sue" and "author," though this usage is not universal within the fan fiction community. Έκρινα με βάση χαρακτήρες που κάνω ή έχω κατά νου. Κάποτε ίσως ήταν τραγικά τ' αποτελέσματα, και σκέφτομαι να το εξετάσω, αλλά ο χαρακτήρας που θέλω να γράψω περισσότερο τώρα (ναι, not kidding) είχε το στρογγυλότατο score 10. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, το ξαναδοκίμασα με βάση το πώς έπαιξα τον πρώτο μου χαρακτήρα, ένα βάρδο, όπου έβγαλα: 29 22-29 Some definite Sue-like tendancies here. A little polishing might be in order to put original fiction and RPG characters back into the balance, especially if Kirking is involved. Fanfiction characters should probably have some work done. Or make sure you read the instructions properly (some people don't do this, which causes freakishly high scores) and take the test again.
