Και ένα μεγάλο ευχαριστώ στον Ντίνο Κέλλη που όχι μόνο δεν έκλεισε αηδιασμένος το αρχείο, αλλά έκανε και κάποιες πολύ χρήσιμες διορθώσεις.

Kelly was devastated. She could feel the guilt welling inside her, flooding her tear ducts. She did not want to do it. Did not want it at all.
But she had to.

Her mother told her John was a good-for-nothing. But see did not heed her and here she was, a back-seat baby growing in her belly and a boyfriend who moved out of the city hell bent for leather as soon as he learned about it. She had grown up without a father and did not want her child to go through the same shit.
She had to drop it.

Wrong! She had grown with a mother who actually had a decent job. She was barely out of high school and could not even afford to get a real job to raise her child. Abortion may be murder, as the protesters outside screamed at her, but bringing a child to a life of poverty and discrimination was far worse, at least in her book.
She had to kill it.

“Miss Roberts,” said the nurse, a cold, fat, middle-aged lady with an unsympathetic face that did not even bother to pretend she was smiling, “it is time to come in.”
I am sorry, baby Kelly thought, as she choked a sob, “but I have to.”


“OK, Charlie, put it in the freezer.”
Charlie looked at the dead foetus. He really hated his job, but he had to do it. Sure, it was at best ethically grey but only some hippy pro-lifers complained about it. Throwing the finger to them was a good reason to keep doing it.
Still, the dead babies – or, as P.C. Corporate policies dictate calling them foetuses - made him want to puke every time.
“Sure, James,” he said, picking up the tray
“Oi! Guys,” barked Thomas from his desk, “change of plans. They want it at the kitchen.”
If Charlie hated something more than dead foet– rules be damned, dead babies - it was dead babies in the kitchen.
“OK,” he muttered and went on to do away with what he had to do.
I have to make a living, he told to himself, but, deep down, he could hardly believe it.


“Come on! I paid this much for this tiny so called speciality pie?”
“Sorry sir,” said the waiter, “but you are lucky there was one left. They run out really quick.”
“Come on honey,” said Sarah, “you should try it. The taste is un-be-lie-va-ble”
“It better be,” John grumbled. “It is hardly two mouthfuls.”
“If you want I could bring you another dish,” the waiter offered.
John looked again at the pasty in front of him. His curiosity was actually piqued by this tiny yet over-priced morsel of food.
“No problem,” he said, “I'll take it.”
“Thank you, sir,” said the waiter and left the table.
“See, honey,” Sarah told him, “there is no reason to be grumpy. You should really taste it.”
John took fork and knife at hand and cut a piece of the pasty. Reluctantly, he brought it to his mouth and chewed it.
“Oh, my,” he said after a long swallow. “God! This is delicious!”
“Told you so, honey.”
“I have to say the taste of the meat is odd... But it is delicious! Really, really, delicious!”
“Honey, you should listen some more to me.”
“I wonder what it is made of?”
“Does it really matter, honey?”
“No. I mean, I guess it doesn't. But we better hurry. We ought to go out there and protest some more. Damn abortion clinic!”
Makes you think, why would the owner of such a delightful restaurant build it right by that despicable place! he thought as he went back to the mob gathered outside the clinic. But he decided it was actually fortunate him and the rest of the group could get such a great meal after the protests, that they should.

Ναι, έκφραση είναι και σημαίνει "εγώ τουλάχιστον αυτό πιστεύω."

Κάμποσο ανατριχιαστικό και αηδιαστικό... Στην αρχή πίστεψα ότι εκείνοι στο εστιατόριο ξέρανε τι τρώγανε, που θα το έκανε ακόμη πιο σοκαριστικό. Αλλά η ειρωνία στο τέλος το έκανε πιο γουστόζικο.

Ένα επεισόδιο του "Ο Άλφρεντ Χίτσκοκ παρουσιάζει" όταν ήταν μικρός έχει δει ο κάποιος και τον σημάδεψε. Επίσης είχε να γράψει φλασάκι με θέμα: "κάτι περίεργο τρέχει με το κρέας" ενώ άκουγε Slayer και έτρωγε Cornish Pasty.
