Θα φτάσεις αλήθεια τα 75 μες το 2012 Βάσω;

 

Βρίσκομαι στο 62ο.

Από πλευράς αριθμών νομίζω ότι προλαβαίνω.

Αλλά στο 75 θα σταματήσω αναγκαστικά γιατί δεν υπάρχουν άλλα στην αναγνωστική γιάφκα.

 

Μια που ο χρόνος δεν με παίρνει για να φτάσω στα 75 μέχρι την αλλαγή του έτους, ας κάνω σήμερα τον απολογισμό μου:

Έφτασα τελικά στα 73, έχοντας διαβάσει τα 23 μέσα στο 2012. (Σίγουρα θα είχα προλάβει τα 75 αν δεν είχα διαβάσει τα δυο πελώρια Ίλιον και Όλυμπος μέσα στη χρονιά, αλλά δεν το μετανιώνω επειδή ήταν καλά βιβλία).

Αν και απέχω πολύ από τα νούμερα που βλέπω εδώ οφείλω να ενημερώσω ότι έχω διαβάσει πλέον 35. Αμφιβάλλω αν θα περάσω τα μισά γιατί είναι δύσκολο να τα βρω (κάπου 10 ακόμη βρίσκω) αλλά στην παρούσα φάση καλά είναι.

τα πιο πολλά δε μου προκαλούν το ενδιαφέρον. Οι συνόψεις τους ναι, αλλά άλλο οι ιδέες, άλλο το γράψιμο και το συνολικό αποτέλεσμα.

Αν θέλεις απάντηση αναλυτική για τα συγκεκριμένα: το Dune και το Slaughterhouse 5 κάαααποια στιγμή θα τα διαβάσω, αλλά προς το παρόν δεν έχω όρεξη. Το Flowers for Algernon και το A Canticle for Leibowitz έχω διαβάσει τα διηγήματα στα οποία βασίστηκαν και μου φτάνει αυτό (και το ACFL δε μου άρεσε κιόλας). Τον Dick δε νομίζω να τον καταφέρω σε μυθιστόρημα. Το Forever War μπορεί να το προσπαθήσω, αλλά κι αυτουνού δε μου αρέσουν όλα. Τα άλλα όχι, δε μου προκαλούν το ενδιαφέρον.

Το Lord of Light μού προκαλεί το ενδιαφέρον, αλλά προηγούνται άλλα.

Long Time, no see..

 

Μια που ο χρόνος δεν με παίρνει για να φτάσω στα 75 μέχρι την αλλαγή του έτους, ας κάνω σήμερα τον απολογισμό μου:
Έφτασα τελικά στα 73, έχοντας διαβάσει τα 23 μέσα στο 2012

 

 

Και φυσικά, υποσχέθηκα στον εαυτό μου ότι θα φτάσω και στα 75 που ήταν ο αρχικός στόχος.

Τι έκανα για τα 75 μέσα σε 10 μήνες;

Για το Moonseed, έχω να παρατηρήσω ότι ήταν απλό, κατανοητό, αδυσώπητα καταστροφικό, και σε μερικά σημεία βαρέθηκα αφόρητα. Αν ήθελα να διαβάσω όλες τις τεχνικές λεπτομέρειες για τα ταξίδια στη Σελήνη, θα μπορούσα να βρω αναφορές της NASA.

 

Για το Synners πάλι, έχω να πω ότι ήταν ένα εξοργιστικά δύσκολο βιβλίο, τόσο που χαίρομαι που βρισκόταν προς το τέλος της λίστας μου (όχι για κανέναν άλλο λόγο, αλλά επειδή μερικές φορές πήγαινα με ημερομηνία έκδοσης). Το ξεκίνησα, είδα ότι δεν καταλάβαινα τίποτα, διάβασα το Moonseed, επέστρεψα, το ξανάφησα τρεις-τέσσερις φορές, και στο τέλος αποφάσισα ότι ή εκείνο ή εγώ. Εννοείται, έπρεπε να είμαι εγώ. Το κατάλαβα; Σε γενικές γραμμές, ναι. Είχε μια καλή ιδέα για την εποχή του. Στους διαλόγους και στις λεπτομέρειες πάντως, είχα την εντύπωση τις περισσότερες φορές ότι μιλάνε γλώσσα που δεν ξέρω. Το ευχαριστήθηκα; ΟΧΙ!

Στην πραγματικότητα, κάποια στιγμή προς τη μέση του βιβλίου, είπα να κλέψω λίγο. Να μπω στo Internet και να ψάξω καμιά περίληψη, κανένα spoiler, κάτι τέλος πάντων. Δυστυχώς, δεν υπήρχε. Να υποθέσω ότι κανένας δεν αισθανόταν εντελώς σίγουρος για το τι διάβασε για να ανεβάσει περίληψη;

E, ας μην γίνομαι τόσο κακιά. Βρήκα ωστόσο κάποια κριτική που ανέφερε ότι ήταν ένα εξαιρετικά δύσκολο βιβλίο, και ότι αν ήταν παζλ, θα είχε αντίστοιχη δυσκολία έργου 2000 κομματιών.

Ίσως το βρουν καλό οι φίλοι του Cyberpunk. Δεν θα το συνιστούσα σε καμία περίπτωση σε αρχάριους της ε.φ.

Κάπως έτσι ξέρεις ένιωσα με το The sheep look up που σε ενθουσίασε. Καλές ιδέες, πολύ κουραστική γραφή. Δεν μπορούσα να το παρακολουθήσω, όχι γιατί ήταν ακατανόητο (δεν ήταν) αλλά γιατί η γραφή σε έκανε διαρκώς να χάνεις τον ειρμό.
