και έμεινα απόλυτα ευχαριστημένος από μια  Witcher anime movie, που μου έδωσε έντονα Castlevania the series vibes.

The Witcher Showrunner Explains How Nightmare of the Wolf Ties Into Season 2

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf Vesemir

Earlier this week, The Witcher’s official Twitter account released a new video explaining how the ending of the recently released The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf anime film ties into the live-action series, including how it helps set up the second season of the highly anticipated show.

In the video, showrunner and executive producer of The Witcher Lauren Schmidt Hissrich discussed the ending of the anime film, which showcases the fall of Kaer Morhen. According to Hissrich, the best way to explore this piece of lore was to do it in an animated format because it would have been nearly impossible to shoot it in live-action due to the sheer number of Witcher’s, monsters, and humans involved.

When it comes to how the anime film impacts the upcoming second season of the Netflix series, Hissrich discussed the very strong narrative theme of fatherhood and parental responsibility that Vesemir — the main character of the anime film — has. According to Hissrich, Gerald will be experiencing a very similar feeling in the second season as he attempts to guide Ciri on her own journey.

During their journey, the pair will come upon the sacked city of Kaer Morhen, which will have already fallen as thanks to the anime film, setting up an explanation as to why the city and its history is so important to Geralt.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf is written and produced by Beau DeMayo. It is also produced by The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. The anime film hails from Studio Mir, the Korean animation studio behind Nickelodeon’s Legend of Korra, and Netflix’s original anime series Voltron Legendary Defender.
