A vision bleak

Bleached white light

Burns my retina

Followed by its retinue of pains

Both sharp and dulled

By self-imposed anaesthetia

Sterile steel, honed edge

Cuts with surgical precision

Extracting this healthy illness

As tubes pump in the unhealthy cure

In hospital rooms inhospitable
