Όχι. Into the Storm “We are approaching into planetary orbit my lord”, the voice from the intercom announced, and a hiss of static followed as the connection went off. There, in the emptiness of the room, brother Andriel of the Dark Angels stood motionless as thoughts were passing off his mind; Visions of previous battles, brothers long dead but not forgotten passed before his eyes and asked for vengeance in their, and the Holy emperor’s, name. The green color of the artificer armor reflected the glow from the lights in the small chamber and it made it look almost radiant. Andriel stood up, took his power sword from the gun rack it was laying in along with his heavy bolter. He sheathed the sword, and loaded the bolter with hellfire rounds, praying to the emperor as he loaded the shells one by one. He holstered the bolter, wore his cloak’s hood, and the crimson eyes of his helmet colored the inside of his hood with an eerie glow. He took a deep breath and turned towards the door of the chamber. His visor displayed a 3D holo-map of the ship that was interpolating with the environment he was seeing. A red line was directing him towards the bridge of the huge ship. He could hear his footsteps echo through the aisle. He could also hear the voices of the men around him, even behind closed doors; a gift of his augmented senses. The bridge’s doors opened and the vast deck was revealed before his eyes. Huge gothic arcs were crowning the corners of the bridge, and smaller ones were framing the windows allowing a glance of the dark space surrounding them. Astropaths and servitors along with guardsmen were habitating the bridge of Righteous Glory, an Eberron class starship that has taken part in more fights than it should during its service. In its center a huge holo-projector was the epicenter of interest at the moment with all of the high ranking officers buzzing around it. A projection of the planet below them was on a flickering display, and data related to the planet were running in 2 lines on the left of the 3D Holo-map. “Ah, Brother Captain Andriel, you are here” Captain Lucius Kronswarge told him as he saw him looming over him. Captain Lucius was the commander of Righteous Glory for almost 80 years now, and he was a man proud of his ship. “When will the transport be ready, commander”? Brother Andriel asked; his voice brought down to a bearable level through his helmet’s voxcaster. “Ready when you are brother Captain”, the commander replied. He has come across Space Marines many times in his career, but he was always surprised and a little amused from their readiness and straight-into-the-point approach on matters.” This one must be of high importance for having an Eberron Class destroyer to act as a cruise vessel” he thought, and wondered whether Andriel was able to read his thoughts. “Good. I am ready to depart Commander”. Andriel nodded at the Lucius and turn to look the hologram of the planet. “Prepare the transport” Lucius ordered and the servitor manning the ship’s vox system transferred the order mechanically. 30 minutes later Andriel was boarding the transport. He sat in the seat provided and he glanced around the inside of the vessel, all stippled in the red colour of the lights of the cabin. The pilot was talking to his intercom with Righteous Glory’s flight master. “All ready to drop” the pilot said; drop been familiar term of terra-landing between battle hardened veteran pilots who used the term whenever they had to land on a planet’s surface. The servitor’s monotonous tone voice responded “you may proceed with landing procedure captain”. Andriel saw the huge hulk doors opening and the blue sphere that was Laeritus Prime loomed below them. Andriel felt the boost of the thruster kicking in and the ship started its 5-minute descent to the planet’s capital city’s spaceport. Oberon
Nestor
Oberon
Nestor
