Hugo and Nebula awards

Μούρκοκ - Χάλντεμαν είναι τεράστιοι συγγραφείς και έχουν διαμορφώσει τη σύγχρονη εφ. Και πιθανότατα έχουν να προσφέρουν πολλά ακόμα. Τι να κάνουμε, κάποτε γερνάμε, δεν σημαίνει ότι τότε θα πρέπει να μείνουμε σπίτι μας.

 

Πάντως το πεδιλάκι πράγματι είναι το κάτι άλλο. Φυσικά, όπως είναι γνωστό, οι αμερικανοί ντύνονται όπως να 'ναι. Δεν είναι η πρώτη φορά που βλέπεις σοβαρό άνθρωπο σε σοβαρή εκδήλωση και σου βγαίνουν τα μάτια...

Να με συγχωρείς αγαπητέ nikosal αν προσέβαλα εσένα και την γενιά που πρεσβεύεις αλλά όπως καταλαβαίνεις δεν ήθελα να υπονοήσω κάτι τέτοιο αλλά το ανέφερα σαν "αστείο", και βέβαια δεν σημαίνει οτί επειδή οι άνθρωποι γερνάνε πρέπει να μένουνε στην άκρη και ότι δεν έχουν τίποτα άλλο πια να προσφέρουν (αν και σε κάποιους τομείς αυτό είναι καλό να γινεται για να δίνουν τη ευκαιρία σε νέους ανθρώπους να δώσουν και αυτοί κάτι πχ. Πολιτική) όπως αυτό ισχύει και για όλες τις άλλες κοινωνικές και μη ομάδες που μπορεί να υπάρχουν (όπου σε μιά εξ' αυτών ανήκω κι εγώ κι καταλαβαίνω).

 

Αν λύθηκε το θέμα είμαστε εντάξει, αν πάλι αυτό δεν ήταν σπόντα για το δικό μου σχόλιο αλλά απλά μια αναφορά πάλι εντάξει-λήγει εδώ το θέμα για να μην γεμίζω άσκοπα και τον χώρο που δεν είναι και ο κατάλληλος για τέτοια πράγματα.

Όπως είχα πει και σε σχετικό τόπικ πάντως ο Μούρκοκ-προφανώς- έχει περάσει πολλά τελευταία με τρεξίματα στα νοσοκομεία και τους γιατρούς.Οπότε καλό είναι να μην κοροιδεύουμε κάποιον για θέματα υγείας.Για τον Τζο δεν έχω ιδέα γιατί ντύθηκε τουρίστας στην Ακρόπολη.

Το να τιμάται ένας 60αρης(έστω κάποιος που κοντεύει τα 70) για επιτεύγματα μιας ζωής είναι το πιο λογικό.Hugo και Nebula παίρνουν και πιο νέοι, αλλά Grand Master θα πρέπει να είναι κάποιος τιτάνας του χώρου.Και ο Μούρκοκ έχει προσφέρει πάρα πολλά, όχι μόνο με τα βιβλία του αλλά και με το κύμα που δημιούργησε.Ευτυχώς η εκδήλωση έγινε στην πόλη που μένει και μπόρεσε να παραβρεθεί.

χεχε Ανδροειδές, ευτυχώς... δεν πρεσβεύω τη γενιά του Χάλντεμαν και του Μουρκοκ. Ίσως τη γενιά που μεγάλωσε με Χάλντεμαν και Μούρκοκ; Ούτε καν. Το Φορέβερ Γουόρ το διάβασα πρώτη φορά πριν 2-3 χρόνια, το Μπιχόλντ δε μαν ακόμα πιο πρόσφατα. Τα έχεις διαβάσει; Είναι εξαιρετικά. Και διαβάζοντάς τα δένεσαι με τους συγγραφείς, σταλάζει μέσα σου ένας σεβασμός, ακόμα και μια αγάπη για αυτούς τους ανθρώπους, παρόλο ότι δεν θα κάτσουμε ποτέ στο ίδιο τραπέζι μαζί τους. Με την ευκαιρία του τόπικ, είναι και τα δύο αυτά βιβλία βραβευμένα, και συνιστώ σε όσους δεν το έχουν ήδη κάνει (υπάρχουν; ναι υπάρχουν... κυκλοφορούν ανάμεσά μας μεταμορφωμένοι σε κοινούς ανθρώπους...) να τα διαβάσουν.

Kathleen Ann Goonan's In War Times is winner of this year's John W. Campbell Memorial Award for best SF novel published in 2007, with David R. Moles' "Finisterra" and Elizabeth Bear's "Tideline" tying (for the first time) for the Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award for best short fiction of the year.

The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) has announced that Harry Harrison will be named the next Damon Knight Memorial Grand Master. Presentation of the award will be made during the Nebula Awards Weekend in Los Angeles in 2009.

Από ότι έχω καταλάβει είναι αστυνομικό και το SF στοιχείο του περιορίζεται στο ότι λαμβάνει χώρα σε μια εναλλακτική ιστορία στην οποία η πλειονότητα των Εβραίων εγκαθιστάται στην Αλάσκα κατά την διάρκεια του δευτέρου παγκοσμίου πολέμου με αποτέλεσμα ο ΔΠΠ και η υπόλοιπη ροή της ιστορίας να εξελιχθεί διαφορετικά.

Κι όμως Ντίνο, αυτή η πρόταση είχε όντως συζητηθεί από την Αμερικάνικη κυβέρνηση και τον Ρούσβελτ αλλά δεν πραγματοποιήθηκε γιατί εναντιώθηκαν οι... Εβραίοι της Αμερικής κι ένας γερουσιαστής από την Αλάσκα.

 

Επίσης, θα το γυρίσουν σε ταινία οι αδερφοί Κοέν.

Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι 3 από τα 5 υποψήφια μυθιστορήματα ανήκουν στην κατηγορία των young-adult novels.

 

Ειδικά από τον Scalzi δεν το περίμενα να στραφεί σε αυτην την κατηγορία.

 

Κανονικά θα επρεπε να έχουν ξεχωριστή κατηγορία για τα young-adult novels αφού η παραγωγή τους τα τελευταία χρόνια είναι τεράστια. Ο καθε συγγραφέας αισθάνεται υποχρεωμένος να γράψει και από ένα. Θα πρέπει να είναι λύση για εύκολα κέρδος φαίνεται. :tease:
